HMS Belfast on D-Day | Nyhet

On 6 June 1944 HMS Belfast took part in one of the most dramatic events of the Second World War – D-Day. The largest amphibious assault in history, the Allied victory owed much to the ships and sailors who got the Army safely ashore. One of those 7,000 ships was HMS Belfast, today moored in the Pool of London as a branch of Imperial War Museums. Using first-hand accounts from IWM’s unparalleled archives, HMS Belfast at D-Day tells the extraordinary story of this remarkable ship, her crew, and the contribution they made in the summer of 1944.
